[BC] T3200M two six pin jacks

$

TELUS Technician connected two pairs of wires to this modem. Two center pins of both 6 pin connectors are being used. The two connectors were marked one and two. #1 is connected to DSL1 and #2 to DSL2. First Question: I would like to know if DSL1 and DSL2 can be reversed? Second Question? Is the center two pins polarity sensitive? I am replacing and making new cable and following the colour and respective pin numbers to the exact match. Just curious what matters and what does not. Thank you.

Firmware for Telus ZyXEL P873HNUP Gigabit Router non-Hacked 402374

Anyone have a firmware image for the ZyXEL P873HNUP modem, specifically as supplied by Telus? This is a bonded dual DSL modem, a rare beast. Mine is in perfect condition, but needs a firmware load. I am not a Telus customer, and ZyXEL support won't supply an image except through Telus. There are some sketchy firmware images on the net. I know it uses two Broadcom BCM6368 chips.

Telus gig internet - 1 TB limit. -- anyway to get unlimited?

We have a pretty busy house, downloading games on steam and streaming and all that kinda stuff. for the last few months we've hit the max usage limit, and maxed out the over limit fee of $45 (~251GB over last time) Other than dropping down to 300, is there any way to get our unlimited back? We never went past 1.4TB, heck half the time we didn't go over at all.. but having super fast internet means I'm now using online backups and that sorta stuff. Right now Telus is getting $135 out of us already for internet and another $115 for TV.

Moved to a new city. Speed is bad compared to where I came from.

So I have moved recently. In Abbotsford I had 300 internet and in Kamloops I have 300 internet. Abbotsford always tested at 330/330 Kamloops I'm always around 300 upload, but my download is all over the place. I kept all my original equipment except the ONT. Is this a saturation issue? or something else?

Is Telus "Webspace" still supported? (Kind of a long, boring post)

* In the beginning, there was space... WebSpace! Got that 100MB thing included with my account a bazillion years ago (don't see it mentioned with the latest plans), and I've used it over the years to keep pictures I link to in forums, files I access while away from home, that kind of stuff. Worked fine under 98SE with Firefox's FTP add-on FireFTP. * Let's get technical, technical... (Sing along, Olivia!) Then I went and switched to Linux (if it makes any difference). Used one of its FTP programs, no problem. One day I tried to update an HTML file I keep there (just a list of my favourite links), and afterwards I couldn't access it in the browser. Seems Linux does a "permissions" thing with its files. Checked the server version's attributes and found it different than the other files there. * Heh, heh... oops. Instead of changing it locally and then re-uploading, I tried the right-click "Change attributes" function in the FTP program to do it directly. Seemed to work okay; made the bits match, told it to save. Then I found a spelling error in the file that messed up the links, saved (downloaded) and edited the "current" version and tried to reupload. Telus wouldn't let me. It's been months since this all happened (I try now and then, hoping it might "fix itself"), but it was probably the same error I get now when trying to FTP into it. - Connected to www3.telus.net:21 - 220 Welcome to www3.telus.net. - USER xxxxxxxx - 331 Please specify the password. - PASS xxxx - 500 OOPS: cannot change directory:/Home/it/(some numbers) - Disconnecting from site www3.telus.net I can still look at, download, and follow the links in my files, but I can't upload, delete, modify, or otherwise access them. I went back to my 98SE machine, and can't access from the old FireFTP either. If I go to the Telus interface at http://www3.telus.net/cgi-shared/filemgr.cgi , I can still log in, so the user/password is good, but instead of seeing my files, I see: [att=1] "public_html" is not clickable (I'm sure it used to be). Delete or Rename just gives errors, None of those picture boxes have any content. Seems like a non-functional ghost town * Have I babbled away long enough? My theory is that the Telus server didn't like the CHMOD command that Linux sent it to change the permissions on that file, and it has somehow disabled my entire folder. The big question is, do the Telus CSRs (If I sit on hold for a few hours, or wait for the 157 calls ahead of me on Chat to finish) know the first thing about Webspace, or are they too busy selling overpriced fiber and TV to people who really don't need it? Is Webspace still supported, or is it "Abandonware"... IE: it works until it breaks, then you're screwed? It's not horribly critical that I get it back. I think I have most of those files locally, and I've been experimenting with Google Drive, but the Telus version is MUCH easier to work with, if it can be saved. * Th-th-th-that's all folks!

I have a BlackBerry KeyOne unopened that is a warranty replacement. I am going ro sell it unopened to upgrade to KeyTwo. Are Telus’ new phones shipped unlocked or do I still have to call in for a code? This phone was sent by their warrantied phone insurer. Thanks.

[BC] TELUS mail/webmail.

Just found out I am not receiving email from someone using VPN. I am using MS Office 2007 or even TELUS Web-mail. Nothing. Although looks like G mail works fine. Is it something with TELUS not allowing encryption on their email network? I called support and Goggled the problem but nothing fruitful came out of it.

Telus price increases

Telus recently increased the price of the 150 and 300Mbit internet plans. If you signed up for a 2 year contract prior to the price increase, will you still be paying the old fee or is price protection not part of the 2 year contract?

Can't connect to devices

Greetings, I've already tried asking this in the Telus Neighbourhood. For the previous six (or so) modems I've had from Telus, I've been able to access wireless devices on the same network. For example, with the Actiontec V1000H I could connect to my BlackBerry Z10 or PlayBook. Telus has replaced the modem with the T3200M, and now I can't connect to my Wi-Fi devices. I can still connect to my wired Network Attached Storage, which has a static IP. There haven't been any other changes, except the modem. I used to be able to connect to my devices by typing in the network name in Uniform Naming Convention format into the address bar in File Explorer. Now I'm getting an error message saying "Windows cannot access \\Z10". Telus hasn't been any help. How can I find out why the T3200M isn't allowing me to see these devices on my network? Thanks, Shane.

[BC] Anyone had problems with the T3200M?

I got my fibre service hooked up yesterday but the internet has been very fast but intermittent. Wireless will work for a while but then it will just randomly crap out. When I go to my desktop internet doesn't work there either. I found disabling ipv6 makes it last longer but it will still eventually crap out. The lights (internet & wifi) stay on/lit during this whole time. Resetting the T3200M makes it come back and it'll be OK for a while. I've read about the firmware update requiring a factory reset, so I've done that thinking the firmware probably updated. However, it worked about 1.5 hours and just a few minutes ago I had to reset it again. The firmware shown is 31.164L.08, is that the most current? Anyone else have tips before I call in to Telus?

Telus 50 - 12 up at old location, 7 at new location

I moved about 7 minutes away to a new house, my connection at my new location is very good and stable but I am quite disappointed with the 7 mbps upload, when I was getting 12 at my old house. Just curious why the variance? When i do speedtests its like its being throttled. I went into the chat and the guy really didnt want to do anything, he wanted to send a tech and then finally said he will check some things, but during his testing he rebooted the modem and i got disconnected with no change. Do i have any options here, or do i have to live with them throttling me down to 7 up?

BC Telus Purefibre experience (Overall Extremely Happy! SFP install)

It's been about two years since I started submitting the requests to Telus to install fibre in my neighbourhood. I'd been disappointed to see that we were 300m outside of Telus' 2018 planned installation area. I had a local Lecdor contractor approach me around April of this year, and we began the process with the Strata. After a few months, meetings, and onsite inspections the installation was completed last week. (Be prepared for confusion when dates and fibre pulls will happen, this was *VERY* poorly communicated and resulted in the fibre pull techs being here for a week instead of the planned '3 days.' In their defence, our 12-year-old conduits were poorly installed by a sub-contractor with 90 degree bends in them.) I was able to request an install right away on the Thursday. I'd read all the reports and I'd seen the (terrible) install done at my neighbour's condo. The Telus technician showed up on time, and began to unbox the ONT hardware that was aptly described in sizing as "a frozen package of grocery store lasagne for a family of four." As well as the router I sure as heck wasn't going to use after he left. I said to him, "I wish you guys had an SFP for this instead of that massive ONT. " My jaw hit the floor when he said, "I have one in my Truck! It plugs into the back of one of our newer, advanced modems." He took one look in my front hall closet (where the demarc is) and said, "You won't have a problem with this." I happen to have a Cisco SG300-10 which has two SFP ports in it. (I recall purchasing this switch years ago thinking, "I'll never use fibre or SFP's.") He installed the SFP into the Telus modem, did his diagnostics, to prove that the connection worked, and his benchmark tools got about 300Mbps consistently. I then plugged it into the SFP port on the Cisco switch and had to do some network re-jigging as my current firewall; the Ubiquiti ER-X only has copper. [For those that care. I set up a private, isolated, VLAN from the SFP port to another port that I then plugged the EdgeRouter into, a quick temporary fix. Which then connects back into the switch. Kludgy but it will suffice until an ER-4 is available.] I re-ran the benchmarks, after making sure I'd enabled hardware offload on the ER-X. 330Mbps both ways, a 10% performance increase over the Telus Router! (Likely QoS, see disclaimer below) Things I learned: 1) I don't think you can just run out to fs.com and buy your own SFP to GPON converter ($150 Canadian BTW), the one I received is from Nokia. He had to scan a QRcode on it and register it for the Head Office OLT to use it. (That's what the tech said, but if someone knows differently, please chime in!) 2) SFP isn't available on all networks he said, only recent installs. (I may have misunderstood from what he might have meant was, "It's only recently available.") 3) He recommended, and I agreed, to keep the router (not the 'frozen lasagne' ONT) for "testing, diagnostic and 'proof' for troubleshooting in the future." It's in the box, on a shelf. 4) the OLT SFP package said, "GPON ONT SFP (G-010S-A)" 5) There are a lot of new acronyms when researching Fibre, I knew nothing about this until a month ago, acronym mistakes may have been made in this post. 6) Bad splices are frequent, he had to re-splice the one in my maintenance room after re-doing the one in my condo 3 times. As full disclosure, I will *ONLY* use this connection for Internet, I will not (at least for a while) use this for phone or TV. That will require some very special firewall configurations as well as make my internet run slower when the TV is on!

is telus turning off 100+ VDSL bonding?

I've been away on for a while.. getting back, notice my internet seems slower. Last november or so, I got +100MB via bounded vdsl.. wound up getting a T2200M... worked great. From post last year - I was getting this on the modem.. Traffic Type: PTM Aggregate Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 35838 Aggregate Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 131262 Now, I'm getting Traffic Type: PTM Aggregate Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 22656 Aggregate Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 88058 Seems like they chopped like 40 MB off? Also my bill went from -- TELUS Internet 75 to 100 (included data:1024GB) $85.00 to TELUS Internet 75 (included data:550GB) $80.00 So they cut me off by 40 MB lowered the bill by $5? Any idea? Sean

[AB] Telus IGMP settings changed?

After working perfectly for the past 1 1/2 years (with 8 months of uptime until today) my TTV multicast inexplicably stopped working sometime in the last 36 hours. Anyone else with port1 bridge and their own router had any difficulties recently? Everything works fine plugged directly into the T3200 so my next task (after more coffee) is digging out a switch that supports port mirroring and grabbing a wireshark capture to see if there's anything obvious. Basic info incase anyone is interested: T3200>EdgerouterX>Separate TV VLAN on switch>STB Firewall rules and IGMP proxy in place for 10.0.0.0/8 and 207.0.0.0/8 (some posts mentioned 209.0.0.0/8, which I added, but no difference).

SO I live in a Coop in Richmond and heard a rumor from a telus tech Telus is delaying Fiber role outs to MDU as they havent been able to get a return on investment unless tenants sign up for at least Internet 25 which means My dreams of getting Gigabit speeds are over :(

The connection is 75 Mbps bonded. I'm wondering specifically about the following: Retrains Loss of Signal Link Failure Unavailable Seconds Near End CRC Errors Near End RS FEC I had Telus at my home to investigate some issues on one of the lines, specifically, a bunch of intermittent (bursty) CRC errors on line 2. After Telus left, there were no retrains and no CRC errors for a few days, then a "burst" of two retrains with accompanying CRC errors. Those counters have been steady. The FEC errors have been creeping up steadily. They seem to be independent of the retrains and CRC errors. My home is quite far from the DSLAM. I guess there is a speed that's not useful anymore, and that's the limit. It seems like even Steam can't quite push the full connection consistently. (75MB/s) I can't even get a speedtest to hit anything over 700 or so, except Fast.com and downloading torrents will do it. Plus no unlimited, and the extra expense. I'm going back to 300/300. [AB] Bonded Internet 75 - line not 100% stable

$

So I upgraded from bonded 50 to bonded 75 (it was a free upgrade price wise) and ever since i did that i've had some major issues with my connection all of a sudden dropping or slowing to a crawl. Some details: - I had no issues at all when I had the 50 profile - I have a T3200 modem and the TELUS boosters (been having issues logging into the My WIFI app to setup the boosters, separate problem and it's not my creds) - The problem happens with both WIFI and hard wired connections - Called TELUS, the tech I spoke to pretty much was no help (no fault of his, first line of defense i guess). He did the usual stuff, reset this and adjusted that. - I have tried obviously doing a hard reset of the modem. But that is the extent of my troubleshooting. Difficult to troubleshoot since it's a sporadic problem. - One thing I was going to try was revert to a single DSL line and see if the issue persists. But have not tried that yet. - I know the technician who did the upgrade had to switch me to another port. Didn't ask why but I know he did. Can anyone help me out, I would really appreciate it. It's so hard to wait 60+ minutes for a tech on the phone. I am fairly tech savy and shouldn't have any issues following some troubleshooting guidelines... Thanks, Abdul
